Mount
Vernon, New York – May 17, 2005 – The Wartburg
Adult Care Community’s beautiful meadow will once again
be the site of the Mount Vernon Summer Breeze Concert on Wednesday,
June 29th from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. The event, designed
with seniors in mind, will include performances by Felix &
The Cats and Brenda Schaffer-Weiner. Free refreshments will
also be served.
The
concert is sponsored by The City of Mount Vernon, The Wartburg
Adult Care Community, The Office of the Mayor Ernest D. Davis,
The Mount Vernon Department of Recreation, The Mount Vernon
Office for the Aging and the Westchester County Department
of Senior Programs & Services. Supporters of the event
include The Mount Vernon Armory, the Reverend Shelton E. Doles
Community Center, All-Metro Home Health Care, Westchester
Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, USAlliance Federal
Credit Union, Choose Home Care, Sunrise Senior Living at Fleetwood,
Empress Ambulance and The Visiting Nurse Service of New York.
The
Summer Breeze Concert, titled ‘An Afternoon of Swing
Music’ will feature an eclectic program of Broadway
show tunes, opera classics and ethnic favorites. The concert
will take place under a tent on The Wartburg meadow. Admission
and parking are free. Transportation will be provided at no
charge from the Doles Community Center and the Armory.
